Summary
editDescriptionPapiermuseum Basel 2008 (38).jpg | The production of hand-made paper. The pulp accumulates in the wooden-framed screen which is carefully taken out so that the pulp settles equally on all sides. The wooden frame is removed. The water drips away from the screen until the pulp sticks safely to it. With a swift move, the screen is put up-side down on a wooden block and pressed hard, so that is releases itself from the screen onto the block. The different sheets of pulp are separated by sheets of waterproof paper or fabric. After repeating the cycle a couple of times, sheets are taken to the press where they are put under pressure to press the last moisture out. The sheets are then put into a hot-press where they are dried. |
